Overview

Trust CoLab brings together leaders in health and science through an online platform to develop scenarios about how trust in medicine and healthcare will evolve between now and 2040.

By combining the expertise of people with a broad range of knowledge and guiding them through a structured process that elicits and integrates their contributions, we will develop rich, insightful narratives that describe the range of plausible futures.

Focus of the scenario development exercise

The collective minds of the Trust CoLab will develop scenarios that address this question:

What developments will shape people’s health between now and 2040, and how will trust be critical in making sure these developments help people everywhere live longer, better lives?

There is a rationale behind each part of the question:

What developments will shape people’s health...
We want participants to imagine a wide range of factors that could shape future heath. Not only technology and scientific advances, but also changes in peoples’ behavior or economic and environmental developments.

...between now and 2040...
We want to explore possibilities for the next 20 years. Some developments might be predictable or likely within that timeframe. Others are highly uncertain, or difficult to imagine right now. We want to capture all of these possibilities.

...and how will trust be critical...
We are particularly interested in how trust in medicine and healthcare may evolve alongside possible developments that will shape people’s health. Looking across sectors and geographies, what factors may affect trust in medicine and healthcare in the future?

...in making sure these developments help people everywhere live longer, better lives?
What will trust in medicine and healthcare look like across the globe in 20 years? How do we ensure the tremendous breakthroughs in health, medicine and science will be accessible to everyone around the world and bring the benefits we all want?
